Development of Fibrous SF/PCL Tympanic Membrane Scaffolds via Electrospinning: Modeling and Experimental Verification

نویسندگان

چکیده

The ideal tympanic membrane (TM) replacement should meet the requirement of low resistance for dynamic pressures up to about 1 Pa but high large static 5 kPa. Although electrospun membranes have a great potential be used as TM replacement, it is necessary adjust its microstructure in order mimic acousto-mechanical properties human TM. Hence, this work, homogenization modeling and FEM simulation middle ear were combine macroscale function scaffolds. results finally verified with experimental data.

Electrospinning of photocrosslinked and degradable fibrous scaffolds.

Electrospun fibrous scaffolds are being developed for the engineering of numerous tissues. Advantages of electrospun scaffolds include the similarity in fiber diameter to elements of the native extracellular matrix and the ability to align fibers within the scaffold to control and direct cellular interactions and matrix deposition. To further expand the range of properties available in fibrous ...

Electrospinning fibrous polymer scaffolds for tissue engineering and cell culture.

As the field of tissue engineering evolves, there is a tremendous demand to produce more suitable materials and processing techniques in order to address the requirements (e.g., mechanics and vascularity) of more intricate organs and tissues. Electrospinning is a popular technique to create fibrous scaffolds that mimic the architecture and size scale of the native extracellular matrix. These fi...

Electrospinning growth factor releasing microspheres into fibrous scaffolds.

This procedure describes a method to fabricate a multifaceted substrate to direct nerve cell growth. This system incorporates mechanical, topographical, adhesive and chemical signals. Mechanical properties are controlled by the type of material used to fabricate the electrospun fibers. In this protocol we use 30% methacrylated Hyaluronic Acid (HA), which has a tensile modulus of ~500 Pa, to pro...

Forming Fibrous Nanocomposite Tissue Engineering Scaffolds Through Electrospinning: a Comparative Study of Three Fabrication Routes

Due to osteoconductivity of hydroxyapatite (HA), HA/polymer composite scaffolds have been investigated for bone tissue engineering by various groups. In scaffold fabrication, electrospinning of ultrafine fibrous scaffolds incorporated with substantial amounts of evenly distributed HA nanoparticles is still a challenge. The problem of nanoparticle agglomeration not only reduces the electrospinni...
